Lily's first week of life!

Still in my belly - This was about an hour after I had arrived at the hospital to find I was dialated to 7cm and about an hour before she was born. Check out my relaxed smile epidurals are a wonderful thing aren't they?Welcome to the world baby girl! Here she is on her first day... Well it may have been the second, I feel like all the days in the hospital sort of run together as one.Proud mama! and papa!Proud Nana and uncle Richard!

My what an eventful first week she's had. We love our new baby girl!

Welcome to the world Lily

She is here!! Our baby girl, Lily Vai Mendenhall arrived at 5:49 Saturday morning (11/7 - sorry all you guessers were way off... Mary Nilson was the closest though so way to go Mary) weighing 7lbs9oz and 19.5 inches long. Unfortunately I am having some SERIOUS difficulties uploading pictures onto our dinosaur age home computer but I promise they will come as soon as I am able to upload them. Sorry for the delay but for now, take my word for it, she is BEAUTIFUL. We absolutely adore her and are so happy to have her in our lives.

9 Months!

After talking to my dear friend Amanda the other night she made me feel quite guilty for not documenting my pregnancy with weekly pictures - sorry mand. Here's a 9 monther just for you... the fully cooked product is the most interesting part anyways right?!

With the due date 10 days away, I'll start taking bets today. Anyone care to wager a guess on the birth date for our baby girl?

The Latest in Our World

We have certainly had an exciting and busy past couple months! We purchased our first home at the end of last month which we are very excited about, but it is keeping us busy. We've been spending whatever time we have between school, work etc. trying to move in, get unpacked, paint, and do other little needed fix up's before the deadline of the baby coming in November! The process is a bit of a slow one because, as I eluded to earlier, Luke just started his Master's program at the U while working full time and let's face it, there's only so much a pregnant girl can do when it comes to odd jobs around the house :) So you'll notice there is still much to be desired for the landscaping appeal but we'll get there next summer!

I've also been so fortunate to have wonderful friends and family throw some very memorable showers for our little one on the way! Unfortunately I don't have pictures from all of them yet but the two below are from the shower my amazing Salt Lake friends threw this week. It was ah-mazing!!

This is my cute cousin Lauren who is ALSO pregnant (along with everyone else in the world I swear!) She is having a boy! Congrats Laur!

I keep waiting until I have time to write a proper post and catch up on all the events of the summer that I have not been blogging about however that time just doesn't seem to come!! So for now I figure something is better than nothing and pictures are usually more fun than words so here area few...

My favorite Holiday

I love the fourth of July and this year I couldn't have asked for a better one. Luke and I celebrated all weekend with rodeos, pool parties, bbq's and of course the fabulous Sugarhouse fireworks show. I hope you all had an equally enjoyable and memorable time.

Carrissa and I figured it's high time we start making our babies be friends. I mean they are only going to be a week apart in age according to our due dates. Who knows these babies could have the same birthday!!
